New Jersey has undoubtedly been a breeding ground for talented rappers for decades. With artists like Naughty By Nature and Bandmanrill hailing from the Garden State, it's clear that hip-hop runs deep in the area's culture. However, for Dollababy, music was always on the horizon.
From a young age, he was drawn to the beat of the drums, learning how to play at just 4 years old. As he grew older, he honed his skills in producing, rapping, and engineering, making him a true triple threat in the music industry. Being the go-to engineer/producer for the local scene in highschool would strategically bring buzz to his own music, which quickly transitioned into larger opportunities for Dollababy.
Teaming up with his brother and three cousins to form Modern Day Generation (MDG), the
group would move into opening acts for major artists and even joined Fetty Wap's
"Welcome to The Zoo" tour.
Despite the great success in the short run of MDG, distance has made it difficult for the group to release as much music as they'd like. But Dollababy isn't one to sit around and wait for things to happen - he's been releasing music as a solo artist, dropping some of his best work to date with songs such as ‘New Level’ which found great success on Tiktok, and even went on to be featured on the Radio on DJ Drewski Hot 97. More recently, Dolla has taken to producing some of his own records that are set to release throughout the year.
With his tight rhymes and smooth flow, Dollababy will have you finding new bars and unique
wordplay with each replay of his songs. With his finger on the pulse of the industry and a chip on his shoulder, Dollababy is primed to be the next successful artist / producer out of New Jersey.
